Visit of Red River College - The delegates from the RED RIVER COLLEGE Manitoba, Canada Visited Hindustan College of Engineering as apart of the faculty exchange Programme in Aircraft Maintenance. Mr. Jeff Zabudsky President of Red River College, led the team and was very impressed with the teaching fraternity and the infrastructure. HCE has signed an MOU with RRC.

TIFAC CORNER

 

Hindustan College of Engineering signed an MoU with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bangalore to impart training for the newly recruited HAL assistant Engineers in areas like Aerodynamics, Avionics, Aircraft Design and manufacturing Technology. 150 Engineers were trained for six weeks in three batches from 10th July to 11th November 2006.

 

   

II RMC MEETING (Reach Monitoring Committee)

RMC Chairman Air Marshal P. Rajkumar, Sri. A. Shanmugam, Dr. A.K.Ghosh, Sri A.K. Bose and Mr. S. Munueshwar, Member Secretary Visited Hindustan College of Engineering on 8th November 2006 to inspect the on-going TIFAC CORE Project on "Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. They were highly impressed on seeing the training equipment of Boeing- 747and Airbus A-300 aircrafts and other equipment in Avionics lab based on the latest developments in Aeronautical Engineering.
 
THREE CHEERS
 
The expert Committee from the National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi, Visited the KCG College of Technology from 19 to 21 May 2006 for assessing the engineering branches, ECE, EEE, Mech andCSE Programmes for accereditation. The Committee was pleased with the facilities available in the departments and also the overall performance of the College. The Committee accorded accreditation initially for three years.
 
Hindustan Group of Institutions was one of the sponsors for the renovation of the Madras University Senate House. It is a great Privilege to be part of the commemoration of the 150 years foundation Day Celebrations of University of Madras, which was held on 4 September 2006.

Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the president of India, Presided over the function and gave a seminar presentation on “Talent Technology and Knowledge Power of India” , which was followed by an interactive session in which the Students of the Hindustan College of Arts and Science Participated. The questions prepared by them were selected and short listed by the president himself.

 

Cisco Systems

 
Ms. R.Krishnaveni, Asst. Professor of Computer Science Engineer and Mr.D.Sahaya Lenin, Lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering of the Hindustan College of Engineering attended the CISCO Regional Academy, Anna University. Now they are certified CCNA trainers. CISCO Training Centre has been established in the Campus with State of the art routers & Switches. The Students can attend the Programme and obtain CISCO Certification.

 

Korean Window Programme

 
The Hindustan College of Engineering has been selected by sungkonghoe University, Seoul to offer one of the world's best specialized training Programmes in Animation & Gaming. The College is sponsoring 2 staff members under the Korean Window Programme for a period of 11 months from January to November 2007. The training fee worth almost 10,000 USD is fully funded by the Korean Counter Part.
 

BELL HELICOPTER CORPORATION

 
The Orient Flight School (OFS) Played host to a team of Senior officials from bell Helicopter Corporation, USA onb 25 September 2006. The team includes Ms. Launa Barboza - Director, Cdr.Terry Eichman - Deputy Director and B.Digh Deo-Managing Director of Bell Helicopter Verghese Additional Director interacted with the team. OFS is developing innovative methods to make helicopter training & Operations viable. The team has expressed interest to join interest to jointly establish helicopter simulator facilities.
 
HIET Boys Fly High with SIA Engg.
 
 
A team from SIA Engineering Company, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, comprising of Mr. Vikas Chandiramani, Human Resources (Services), Mr. Rajoo Murthy, Superintendent, Engineering Training, Nr. Yap Hah Chai, Senior Instructor and Ms. Jane Wong, Human Resources Executive visited Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology on 22nd November 2006 to select students for the Trainee Technician Programme. After many rounds of selection, in the presence of Mr. N.S. Rajan, Chief Instructor, 21 candidates were selected.
 
Visits of Singapore Delegates

The Minister of State for Education, Singapore Mr.Gan Kim Yong and Mr. Ajit Singh, Consul General, Republic of Singapore, Chennai accompanied by team of experts from the Education Department visited Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) on 24 August 2006. The Singapore Government is exploring the possibilities to tie up with HGI for sending Students for higher studies in specialized areas. The team showed keen interest in the training given to the pilots in the Orient Flight School, and the delegation was impressed with the infrastructure and teaching community.

 

HCAS TIE-UP

 

With the air of setting up a Center of Excellence and preparing students for industry, the Hindustan College of Arts and Science Signed an MoU for training and research Collaboration with HELIX INFO SYSTEM on July 2006, For providing Industrial interaction and research for mutual benefit in the field of biotechnology and Bioinformatics. The MOU was signed in the Presence of Dr. Susan and Dr.Prem Marthandan, Directors, HCAS and Mr. Puspharaj, Managing Director and others. The collaboration while promote research in Key Specialize emerging areas such as biotechnological data mining, Proteomics, Genomics, systems Biology, Nanobiotechnology, Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering.
